So, there's an officially animated Homestuck pilot being made by Vivziepop's animation studio. Honestly, I think a lot of people are sort of being dramatic about it.
Sure, I'm not a fan of Vivzie's writing... but she won't be involved in the writing. She's providing creative direction and funding, yeah, but the actual writing has already been done. People are forgetting that this is an adaptation of Homestuck, not a Vivzie-funded knock-off.
I'm excited for it, really! I know the animation style isn't everyone's thing, but I think it looks great, personally! I think that for Homestuck, a simpler art-style is key, because it allows for more exaggerated expressions and gags. So, I really like it. I kind of wish they had five fingers, though. It looks weird rn.
I'm also super hyped for the voice acting. I'm still iffy on Karkat and Rose's voices, but I think the casting for John, Dave, and Jade were great. On the topic of Karkat, why.. is he here? Don't get me wrong, I love Karkat (look at the name of the website), but I don't get why he's here. Kanaya is the first troll we meet, and Terezi is much more involved in the early acts then either of them, so why is Karkat the only troll in the pilot's trailer?
My best bet is that they'll do a half/half thing. The first half will be John focused. We get to meet the kids, get the plot of the game kicked off, and all those first act stuff. The second half will be when we meet Karkat. But really, I think it would've been better if Kanaya or Terezi were in it, instead.
I also am somewhat curious as to if they'll make more episodes. My prediction is that it will be like Hazbin Hotel. There will be a pilot, and if that does well, they'll make more episodes. I do think that unlike Hazbin, if they make more episodes, they'll keep the voice actors. Especially Toby. But if more episodes are made, I wonder how involved Hussie will be.
It looks like she's really trying to separate themselves from the comic? Like they don't seem to want people to actually read the comic at all. That with the fact that they're on record saying they don't like being known as "the Homestuck guy" and that she doesn't like her fans, it's so confusing to me as to why he's suddenly working on this?

The Marvin Trilogy has taken over my mind. My favorite of said trilogy is In Trousers. It's a musical LOADED with symbolism and allegories and I love it, so here's my interpretation of these songs.
Marvin's Giddy Seizures
"Marvin is a boy who has giddy seizures/He’s laughing all the time/Marvin is a boy who has giddy seizures/Sometimes they’re fatal" His 'giddy seizures', which I believe to be metaphorical, can sometimes cause harm to himself or others. Obviously not to a fatal degree, but that's also telling; Marvin is a pessimistic and hyperbolic person, making him even more of an unreliable narrator than we already know him to be.
As said earlier, I do think the "giddy seizures" are metaphorical, not literal. To me, it just means that he'll do anything for attention. "When he turns upside down like a ladle/Pouring soup, he’s a veritable fool" helps support this.
"Marvin is my very best friend in school/It’s me... and Marvin" shows how self-centered Marvin is. Despite being well off and having a girlfriend, his best friend is himself. This can also show signs of his sexuality. He could be avoiding friendships with men, which would be expected of him during this time.
